Hi, Everyone!
Thank you for your visit to my world.
My name is Chin Soomyung, a researcher at the
Korean Institute of Criminology in Seoul, Korea. I am interested in
criminological theory, physical criminogenic environment, and the
history of punishment. This homepage is reflecting one of my main
interests, that is, the history of crime and punishment. I usually
obtain valuable information through surfing internet, but it was hard
to find good information about the history of punishment. That is
why I constructed this homepage although there are already thousand
millions of homepages in the world.
This homepage will present very rare informations about punishment executed in Asian nations in the near future. First, I will start to introduce histories of punishment methods used in Korea, Japan, China, and other countries. As you see it, the present status of this homepage is not complete. It will be developed further in my own creative ways. So please visit again soon.
It is my pleasure to tell you that the main content of
this homepage won the first prize by Hansol PCS Company and
Dongailbo in a competition for the Internet Backpack Travel.
My proposal was on "Looking for the History of Crime and Punishment."
The sponsoring companies have provided airline ticket and Eurail pass
to me as a prize. Most of this homepage informations are collected
during my travel to Europe, which was very comfortable and pleasurable.
I really appreciate the two sponsors. God bless them!!
My preference in building homepage is to use more
texual descriptions, considering the ever overflowing internet traffic
situation. Someone who has sufficient net capacities, please visit
my graphic version of the same contents. It's all the same. The only
difference is whether it has more graphical presentations or not.
The graphic software I used is Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint.
My philosophy is not to violate intellectual property right of other person. I tried to do my best in collecting informations from public domain, published books, or my direct experiences. Some images have been scanned by my own scanner. But some of the pictures or contents may have been protected by international intellectual property rights. If you find any such violation in my homepage, please let me know about them. I will do my best to honour the valuable works of my internet collegues.
Your advice will be very helpful to develop this homepage
for more useful, beautiful, and academic one. Please leave your valuable advice.
It will be very helpful for me.
Thanks! and Have a nice day!
